After you get your ascension armor for 15,000, and make a guild and cape and get a hall. What is there left to do with gold/plat? o.O

I'm level 19 and I have ilke 20 plat (though I haven't made my ascension armor yet.)

I also have like 200 of every common material and 10 of every rare material..

Once I beat the game and have no use for gold, Ill just transfer it to a new char.

It costs gold to enter the [email protected] missions, 1 platinum for the whole team on Fissure and 200gp on Underworld. But yea there aren't so many gold sinks in the game.

how do i transfer gold to another character without trusting another soul, thnx in advance

From reading the forums(don't have the game, but want it despertly, so reading will have to suffice till my B-day, only a week though) theres a "communal stash" for all four of your characters. Putting something in it any 1 character makes it avaliable to the other 3. Not sure if this is unlocked thru a quest or something though.

What to Do With Treasures You Find No Use to in 7 Easy Steps!

1. Either make yourself, or purchase a scale armor suit.
2. Dye your entire armor Green, Blue, Black or Red.
3. Find yourself a nice warm cave, a ruined shrine, or a guild hall.
4. Pile all the gold coins, platinum and treasures.
5. Place yourself over the coin pile and lay with your belly down.
6. Shout "Raaar, I'm the [insert adjective] Dragon. Look at all my shinies!".
*. **Optional** Chug a can of gasoline and breathe fire. Please note that such attempt my cause harm and serious injury.
7. Take a nap on your gold pile bed.

Sounds fun. Dont forget to dye any bits of skin showing. Don't want to go into such things half-assed.

Hmmm. Judas, you looking a little green there? This doesnt sound like showing off to me. It sounds like someone who's dutifully collected money and items as he's played the game and now realises..."I don't know what to do with it all.". Now, that is a significant issue with the game 'process' in that you can easily acquire so much capital in your training days that it becomes virtually meaningless to the ascended character. This is not good.

So, continuing along this thread, I too would like to know: Once you've ascended, does gold significantly devalue and are crafting items virtually useless? Or is there much more to create/buy than we are aware of?

In any case, I know I won't be dumping cash or items once I've collected them...as you never know what commodity will be needed down the road with (possible) current game modifications and future expansions. I just hope I get to put them to good use.

There is a vault that you can use to store things between characters, but unfortunatly it can't hold gold.

Hopefully you trust one of your guildmates enough to hold the money for you. One of my guildmates, Auh, for example, I know I could have hold everything I own and he won't rob me.

I use it for my alts. When I'm playing with a new character I want to test out, I just play with my main for 15 or twenty minutes, get a ton of money and buy 2 or three good weapons for the character to use. Kind of a, permanent hook up.

The developers are working on future releases to the game. I am sure there will be more use for the gold and resources later on. As it is, I have a lvl 17 character and have never seen over 4 platinum on him. So, sounds like you are doin good.

well that get's you one piece of armor if you you have the rares you need...but once you spend 75 plat on your end-game armor i guess you don't need gold for anything other than twinking any RP alts you may create.

But doesn't money stop coming in eventually?

I mean once you've done all the missions, and all the quests where would you be getting money from?

Are any pvp matches for money?

So you don't need gold after a long while, but you also aren't earning it either.

And i bet they have new armor and items in future expansions that will cost 30 plat per piece.

Ah okay, I was told the end-game armor only costed 15plat. I'm sitting here farming drakes for items and selling them in the towns between 200g-2000g, and just wondering why I'm doing it at all :P

It's because everything I've seen up until now(in armor/skills/weapons) the cost of them seems rediculously low compared to how much I am able to earn just by doing a mission a few times. 12 Iron Ingots and 12 Tanned Hide squares and 400 gold for some armor? o.O

A: you are doing that because that's how all those other games trained you to play...it's a pointless waste of your time...stop doing it. Guild Wars is not about crap so stop farming it, and stop spamming it in cities.

B: GOOD! That's how this game is designed to be, and what makes "A" a waste of your time. Do you really want to spend your life grinding and farming just so you can get what you need to be reasonably competetive?? if you do, then Guild Wars is not what you're looking for.

In swg i was an awesome pvper...you know why? because i was rich! not because i had an ounce of skill. This game is designed to be the opposite of that...and thank god! (if he were real that is

)

here's something to spend money on. and i suspect they will include more expenses like this in future expansions...in addition to armor that costs ten times as much just because it looks cooler:

Veteran Maps: Entering ???The Underworld??? will now cost 1 platinum piece, the same as entering ???The Fissure of Woe." Rewards in both of these maps have been significantly improved.
